This kit provides all the parts to drive the spindle with a stepper motor.

It is based on the Pololu Tic 36v4 and is designed to drive the spindle using a stepper motor. The stepper motor is attached to a bracket which gets installed onto the lathe's headstock. A rotary switch is used to control the spindle's speed and direction.

The kit's electronic components are in a separate box, with the power supply typically installed under the lathe's bed.

This is a great option for retrofitting an original MDF Rose Engine Lathe to use a stepper motor for driving the spindle. The stepper motor drive gives a solid, consistent speed for the spindle's rotation. This will make your work easier and probably better.

 This kit is not able to synchronize any other movement.

Mechanical Items

• Mounting bracket to attach the spindle stepper motor to the headstock

Assembled electrical items are programmed and tested with the stepper motor.

• Mean Well LRS-100-24 AC/DC Power Supply

• Utility box cover for power switch (equivalent to Hubbell-Raco 861)

Upgrade to ELFOS Later

If you choose to move later to using ELFOS, many of the above-listed parts are able to be re-used. The only parts which cannot be reutilized with an ELFOS system are:
